In late May, our members gathered in the Cinema Palace for our annual General Assembly. This year, the GA focused on change: not just climate change was highlighted, but also the departure of our Director, David Leyssens. After a rousing keynote speech by Jonathon Porritt, the evening ended with a vibrant networking moment, including a live performance by Ander Brass.
The General Assembly began with a strong keynote speech by Jonathon Porritt, co-founder of Forum for the Future. Porritt's message was clear: companies play a crucial role in mobilising our politicians and making climate policy radically more sustainable. The speech undoubtedly lead to some inspiring discussions during the reception later on. After the keynote, our Director David Leyssens presided over the GA's formalities. He presented both our financial report and 2018's activities programme for approval, and set out this year's action plan and activities. Afterwards, The Shift's President, Jacques Vandermeiren, took to the stage to announce our Director's departure. The end of an inspiring chapter, during which countless remarkable partnerships were formed and equally noteworthy projects were launched. The evening ended with a vibrant networking moment, including a performance by the brass- and Beninese jazz-inspired Ander Brass, a fanfare band from Anderlecht.
