First stop in 2018: New Year's reception @ Train World

At the end of January about 200 members got off in Train World for our first big event in 2018. To ring in the new year, but also to discover our boldest ambitions and the concrete program for the rest of 2018. Missed this train? Below you will find the most interesting facts of the evening in a nutshell.

On the right track towards a sustainable society

In our network you find more than 2000 people from about 400 different organisations. Together we want to make the transition to a more sustainable society.

Many different paths lead towards this goal. The Shift helps its members as well as possible via three concrete pillars:

  1. make their actions and ambitions fit within the international sustainability framework of the Sustainable Development Goals
  2. support small-scale, experimental partnerships
  3. strengthen existing collaborations and help making them mainstream

And how will this take shape this year? Through a wide range of activities and a whole series of projects. Discover on the following links:

Let’s dare to dream of a world that will look radically different

Putting things in motion together with our members. That is the priority n°1 of our network. But we also want to continuously stimulate their imagination and challenge their ambitions.

So we also presented some radical ideas to our members during this New Year's reception. For example, Alien De Deken and Clément Magos of the network for young change makers Generation T invited the public to choose sides on a number of crucial societal challenges.

After which visionary architect Luc Schuiten took our members on a journey to the cities and the mobility solutions of the future. And finally, musical centipede Chibida Dumbu enraptured those present with a live performance of his sustainability hit 'Met mijn fiets'.
