At the 2015 award ceremony for the Best Belgian Sustainability Report, The Shift organised a workshop on the SDG Compass, a tool helping organisations to integrate the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Awards for Best Belgian Sustainability Reports 2015, organised by the Belgian Institute of Registered Auditors, took place in Brussels on the 12th of January last year. The Shift organised an interactive workshop in the afternoon, in order to present the SDG Compass. This tookit has been developed by the WBCSD, UNGC and GRI to help companies align and assess their strategy and report their contribution to the implementation of the SDGs.
To mark the occasion, we invited Mark Didden, one of the SDG Compass designers, to come and present its contents. This was not only an opportunity to review the various stages for integrating the SDGs within an organisation’s strategy, but also for discussing the best practices of some participants who attended the workshop.
The workshop was followed by the awards ceremony at KBC’s offices in Brussels. This award is given to organisations who have published an exemplary sustainability report in four categories, namely the “large companies” category, the “SME” category, the “NGO” category, and the “other organisations” category. This year's winners in their respective categories were Solvay, Cap Conseil, and Pro Natura, while Fevia and the Belgian Federal Institute for Sustainable Development (IFDD) tied in the “other organisations” category. Further information on the ceremony, together with a full list of the winners and finalists is available on the event website.
