4. Quality education
FEB strives towards a mutual interaction between research and education; teaching is informed by research, and research is informed by teaching. Alongside the focus on research-based education and the development of analytic skills, FEB places great importance on entrepreneurship and on management skills. Consistent with the identity and mission of KU Leuven, the FEB endorses and advocates the values of human rights, social justice, sustainability and respect for diversity in individuals, communities and ideas. In addition to operating within a governance culture of openness and trust that respects the input and concerns of students and all stakeholders, FEB explicitly educates students to become committed and responsible citizens, who recognize and take into account the complex economic, societal, political, and environmental context within which they will operate as entrepreneurs, managers, researchers, politicians or policy advisors. To this end, it offers study programmes within a broad ethical, cultural and social framework. FEB programmes involve reflection on values, participation in society and openness for the world.
