IKEA Belgique possède 8 magasins. IKEA Belgique a accueilli 13 millions de visiteurs au cours de l’exercice 2015 et 34 millions de personnes ont visité notre site www.ikea.be.

The Shift helps members to make use of the global framework of the UN Sustainable Development Goals to map their societal ambitions.

13. Climate action

By signing the COP21 engagement letter, we commit to take voluntary action to reduce environmental and carbon footprints. We implement this by setting targets to reduce our current own GHG emissions and/or energy consumption, while also collaborating in supply chains and at sectorial levels. We agree on the need for inspirational and meaningful global action and aligned messaging. We will act as ambassadors for climate action, focusing on solutions and economic opportunities. We will help raise public awareness. We will actively manage climate risks and incorporate them in decision making — not least to realize growth opportunities. We will take steps to implement effective strategies to strengthen not only our companies’ but also societal resilience.

8. Decent work and economic growth

IKEA Belgium made gifts and financed languages courses and job coaching sessions to support refugees’ integration. This year we want to consider the possibilities to contract them in our shops for a limited period with the aim to provide them with resilient work experience. We contribute to a better life for the people and communities across our value chain, from supporting decent work throughout our supply chain, to being a great place to work for our own co-workers. We improve environmental and social standards in our supply chain through IWAY, our supplier Code of Conduct, including respect for human rights and promoting safety and health at work.

5. Gender equality

The global IKEA and IKEA Belgium : We want to create a fairer and more equal society. Starting in our own operations, our goal is to reach gender balance in key leadership positions. In IKEA Belgium, 50% of the managers are women.

7. Affordable and clean energy

The global IKEA will spend €600 million over the next five year on wind power and solar power. The global IKEA has invested €1.5 billion in wind and solar power since 2009. 700,000 solar panels have been installed on its own buildings and the overall plan is to produce as much electricity as it consumes, all from renewable sources. By August 2020, the global IKEA will produce as much renewable energy as it consumes in its operations. IKEA Belgium will improve energy efficiency in our operations.

15. Life on land

The global IKEA: We take a lead in the responsible sourcing of raw materials. All of the cotton comes from more sustainable sources (includes cotton grown to the Better Cotton Standard; by farmers working towards Better Cotton; and more sustainable cotton.from the USA -such as the 'e³ Cotton Program') and 50% of the wood we use now comes from more sustainable sources (FSC certified or recycled). We use only FSC certified paper to produce our catalogue - the world’s largest print run ever to be produced using 100% FSC Mix Credit certified paper.

The global IKEA and IKEA Belgium : « Tous les poissons et crevettes sauvages vendus chez IKEA proviennent de pêcheries certifiées de manière indépendante d'après les normes du Marine Stewardship Council (MSC). Et tout le saumon IKEA provient de fermes d'aquaculture certifiées ASC (Aquaculture Stewardship Council). »

The global IKEA : We strive to make all our home furnishing materials either renewable, recyclable or recycled. We take a lead in turning waste into resources. We will develop reverse material flows for waste material, ensure key parts of our range are easily recycled, and take a stand for a closed loop society. IKEA Belgium: We take a lead in turning waste into resources. Today we already sort for recycling or energy recovery more than 90% of our waste We will enable customers to have clear and simple options for the reuse and recycling of their end of life furniture. More sustainable life at home: The global: We create products that enable and inspire our customers to live more sustainable lives at home. Today our lighting range is already 100% LED. IKEA Belgium: We promote our products and solutions, and tips and ideas that can help consumers to reducte and sort waste, reduce or generate energy, reduce water consumption and have a healthier life.
