If we look at our main activities (private banking, merchant bank and asset management), the most obvious and direct link with the SDGs is through our investments. The principles of the UN Global Compact, which constitute the foundation of our ESG screening, directly link to a number of SDGs: SDG 7 and 8 as well as SDG 12 to 16. Via our thematic engagement approach we positively contribute to the fulfilment of these SDGs. In addition, we expect that our Long Term Value Creation (Focus on capital in the long term) approach and our impact investing approach can be linked to the SDGs. Focus on capital in the long term: we will select companies with a long term sustainable business model. We aim to measure the impact of the companies in this concentrated portfolio towards the SDGs. Impact investing: we are currently working on an impact solution for our clients in the Netherlands via the selection of external impact investing funds. We expect the selected funds can be linked tot the SDGs as well.
The Shift helps members to make use of the global framework of the UN Sustainable Development Goals to map their societal ambitions.
