Target group: All our members
Initiator(s): The Shift in cooperation with WWF
Sustainable Development Goal(s): 13. Climate action17. Partnerships for the goals
Priorities for change: Transversal
Over the past few years, The Shift has initiated and supported several climate initiatives. The theme remains a top priority for us in our current programme.
- Accelerating the shift to a climate-neutral society
- Raising awareness of the Science Based Targets initiative among as many organisations as possible
- Helping you develop Science Based Targets for your own organisation
- Sharing information, inspiring others to set climate targets and getting inspired in return
Only when we act as one will we able to solve this acute challenge. That is why we are launching a new initiative together with WWF Belgium: the Belgian Alliance for Climate Action. Through a diverse programme, this alliance will unite organisations that are prepared to join forces to achieve ambitious climate goals.
Are you eager to prepare your organisation for a net-zero future, but don’t quite know where to start? Or perhaps you’ve already set certain climate targets and want to redouble your efforts while sharing your experiences and encouraging others to do the same?
Either way, this network is the perfect platform to exchange knowledge, find inspiration and encourage other actors in your value chain to set their own climate targets.
We are calling on all our members to join this community of like-minded organisations who want to draw on the Science Based Targets to achieve ambitious, substantiated climate targets.
What else can you expect? A stimulating combination of peer-to-peer learning, interactive workshops and inspiring events that will make you wonder why you ever hesitated to take action!
On 12 October, we’ll be giving this initiative maximum visibility through a high-level event and features in several media channels. By then, we hope many of our members will already have joined the Belgian Alliance for Climate Action!
Questions about the project? Let us know or take part in the virtual presentation on 10 November.
