Sustainable logistics make our cities livable. Through a new Green Deal, we want to work with governments, logistics service providers, branch associations and other actors to make deliveries in our city centres emissions-free. Are you in?
- Avoid kilometres travelled by vehicles
- Reschedule necessary or difficult-to-avoid kilometres, or using a more environmentally friendly transport system
- Opt for emissions-free vehicles for necessary or difficult-to-reschedule kilometres
- Connect actors through sustainable city logistics
Flanders is aiming for a low-carbon transport system with a small ecological footprint. City logistics are a crucial lever to achieve this. That is why The Shift is setting up a Green Deal together with VIL, the VVSG (Belgian Association of Cities and Municipalities), the King Baudouin Foundation, the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB university) and the Antwerp Management School (AMS).
Through this Green Deal, you and your organisation can become a driving force behind sustainable city logistics. Together with other participants, you get to share best practices on sustainable logistics and set up new (cooperation) projects.
In April 2019, this Green Deal was officially signed. 35 parties showed their engagement in the presence of Lydia Peeters, Minister of Finance and Energy, and Ben Weyts, Minister of Mobility and Public Works.
