4. Quality education

( 4.7 ) Martin's hotels has set an educational farm (La Ferme de la Hulotte in Wavre - www.fermedelahulotte.be) to help children discover farm animals, draft horses and horses in general within the framework of hippo-therapy, beekeeping, butter-making, farming and the role of farms and farmers in everyday life. Children can also learn about the important role of birds of prey, nest-making and organic farming.

3. Good health

On the occasion of Martin's Green Run (June 14, 2015 - info: www.martinsrun.be), one euro per participant is donated to the St. George Foundation and to Doctors without Borders. 7. Affordable and clean energy

For all events, Martin’s Hotels balances the carbon emissions that it is unable to reduce by a refunding system with CO2logic. These carbon emissions are offset via the funding of projects aimed at setting up self-generated clean energies in emerging and developing countries (e.g. woodstove projects in Uganda).

13. Climate action

The hotel group is proud to have obtained the EMAS certification (Eco-Management Audit Scheme) for its environmental management system (EMS) along with ISO 14001 certification for all of its sites. We already have achieved to reduce our CO2 emission from our energy consumption by 8,6%.

12. Responsible consumption and production

(12.8) To enhance responsable consumption, each employee gets trained on the Hotel's projects for sustainable development. (12.2) Beside this, with the aim of reducing our activities’ footprint, we launched the Eco-Bon program for our clients. It works like a game where the clients can choose among 5 suggested benefical actions. By taking part to those actions, the clients can win eco-vouchers, which can then be exchanged for other Martin’s gift vouchers. (12.5 )Between 2011 and 2018, our challenge is to reduce our water use by 11% , our gas consumption by 14%, and our electricity consumption by 9%. We also want to increase our waste recycling rate by 30%, and the share of local suppliers for fresh food and water by 50%.
