3. Good health
With contributing to the sustainable development of society through business activities at the heart of its CSR, Sumitomo Chemical leveraged its strengths as a diversi ed chemicals manufacturer to develop and produce Olyset™ Net, an anti-malaria insecticidal mosquito net, and sells it around the world. Sumitomo Chemical is continuing research in the prevention of infectious diseases to protect the lives and health of people around the world.
12. Responsible consumption and production
We need to use energy and resources, which are in limited supply, to manufacture chemical products. In the production process, unneeded substances (byproducts) or waste may also be generated. Sumitomo Chemical is pursuing Green Processes, which minimize the environmental impact of manufacturing to the greatest extent possible, and developing Clean Products, which are safer, more environmentally friendly, and of higher quality.
